Howard University Hospital cuts nurse anesthetists, reorganizes nursing staff
Howard University Hospital has laid off eight certified nurse anesthetists but preserved a number of additional nursing jobs by moving employees to other departments in the hospital.
Howard and the D.C. Nurses Association came to an agreement Monday on the terms of the reorganization, D.C.N.A. staff attorney Ed Smith said Friday. Doctors will take the role performed by the nurse anesthetists, he said.
