More on the cover story: Coors Field puts baseball in a social setting

Last spring, the Colorado Rockies’ ballpark opened for its 19th season with a new feature: the Rooftop at Coors Field.

The amenity was added to the upper levels of right field at the expense of 3,500 seats, offering in their place a variety of food and drink options on two levels.

The Tavern, for example, opened the Tavern Ballpark, a 52-foot, 80-inch full-service bar in the Rooftop, said Kevin Kahn, vice president of ballpark operations at Coors Field.
