Details of Exxon Mobil's $225M settlement in New Jersey go public

The details of Exxon Mobil Corp’s unprecedented $225 million settlement with New Jersey were posted Monday on the state’s website.

Irving-based Exxon (NYSE: XOM) will pay that money to the state in addition to the cost needed to remediate environmental damages from refineries in Bayonne and Linden.

It’s the second-largest payout in U.S. history, second only to the Exxon-Valdez spill payout in Alaska.
