Columbia fights plan to take out Shakespeare’s pizza
Plans to tear down a building near the MU campus housing an iconic pizza place has the Columbia City Council debating a demolition moratorium, The Columbia Daily Tribune reports.
The council will debate a proposed ordinance that would enact a six-month moratorium on demolishing downtown structures. The action came after news came out that the building housing Shakespeare’s pizza at Ninth and Elm streets would be torn down.
