Fill 'er up: Gas prices at $2 per gallon quickly fading into the rearview

Hope you enjoyed those $2-and-under gas prices while they lasted, because the national average as well as the Charlotte area’s prices are back on the rise — and are likely to keep heading in that direction.

A gallon of regular unleaded in the Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill metro is averaging $2.11 as of Monday, up from $1.99 a week earlier but still lower than the month-ago average of $2.18, according to AAA Carolinas.
