Hawaii lawmakers to consider buying Class A Honolulu office building
Hawaii lawmakers scheduled a Monday meeting to discuss whether the state should spend $90 million to acquire the Alii Place office building in Downtown Honolulu, near the state Capitol, in an effort to alleviate a shortage of office space for state agencies.
A proposed Senate-amended draft of House Bill 1366, which will be heard by the Senate Ways and Means Committee, would direct the state to purchase the leasehold interest in the Class A building at 1099 Alakea St. The 25-story building at the…
