Montgomery County teams up with tech incubator 1776 to leverage innovation

District tech incubator 1776 has partnered with Montgomery County’s Office of Economic Development to create a pipeline for startups to work on county projects.

Neither county nor 1776 officials would disclose the price tag attached to the partnership for Montgomery County, but it was described by officials as a way to beta test startup technologies for public projects.

The agreement represents the first partnership between 1776, which receives funding from D.C., and a municipal government.
