AFIAA buys Arch Square in Chinatown

Zurich-based AFIAA, the investment foundation of 35 Swiss pension funds, has acquired Arch Square in D.C.’s Chinatown for $104 million.

The 51,000-square-foot building, at 801 Seventh St. NW, is home to the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers headquarters. Its ground-floor retail tenants include Walgreens, Sports Zone Elite and Panera Bread. This intersection commands some of the highest retail rents in Greater Washington.

The prewar building was refurbished in 2012 and is fully leased.
