Alexandria waterfront slowly begins to take shape

It’s been three years since a big civic battle over the vision for the future of Old Town Alexandria’s waterfront, but pieces are finally crystalizing into view.

While there’s been plenty of talk of luxury hotels, restaurants and lush parks to come, The Washington Post reports that the next step in the process will come March 3, when the City Council will decide what funding to allocate to the less-glamorous, but all-too-important process of flood mitigation.
