Carwash site across from San Jose City Hall is officially up for grabs

It’s take two for a prime parcel of land across from San Jose City Hall, as the Successor Agency to the San Jose Redevelopment Agency puts it on the market — again.

Bids are due May 6 for anyone hoping to snag the 61,650-square-foot parcel at 167 E. Santa Clara St., said Richard Keit, the Successor Agency’s managing director. Minimum bid for the site currently occupied by Pacific Carwash? A cool $5.25 million, or about $85 per dirt square foot.
