Eagle Ford drilling activity drops more than one-third in one year's time

Low crude oil prices are continuing to take their toll as new figures show that drilling activity in the Eagle Ford Shale has fallen by more than one-third in just one year’s time.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading on midday Friday at just above $45 per barrel, a price that reflects near six-year lows.

Figures released on Friday by oil giant Baker Hughes show declines in active drilling rigs across the board and marking 12 weeks of drilling activity declines for the Eagle Ford.
