Eagle Ford, Permian Basin both see double digit declines in rig count

After two weeks of stabilizing, drilling activity took a dramatic double-digit decline in both the Eagle Ford Shale and the Permian Basin, according to the Baker Hughes Rig Count.

The number of active drilling rigs in the Eagle Ford had fallen from 137 active rigs to 125 this week.

Drilling had stabilized and remained steady in the Eagle Ford in the two previous weeks making this week’s drop a dramatic decline.
