Halliburton, Baker Hughes cut hundreds of jobs in Texas

Houston-based oilfield services giants Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL) and Baker Hughes Inc. (NYSE: BHI) — which are cutting thousands of jobs globally — have notified the Texas Workforce Commission of more than 350 job cuts across the state.

In letters to TWC dated April 21, Halliburton said it cut 93 jobs in Fort Stockton, 99 jobs in Brownfield and 134 jobs at its Interwood location in Houston. The Fort Stockton facility, at 121 B St., is expected to close, but the other two are expected to remain…
