Hate trying to walk in Boston? This analysis might surprise you.

Boston ranks third on a list of walkable U.S. cities with populations of 400,000 or more, according to a Walk Score compiled by real estate shop Redfin.

The authors say more than 10 million data points were used to create the ranking.

Topping the list was New York City. San Francisco followed. Boston edged out Philadelphia and Miami. Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida, were at the bottom of the list.
