Houston energy services company tries to fend off investor activism

Houston-based Furmanite Corp. (NYSE: FRM) is gearing up for an investor activism battle next month when it holds its board elections at its annual meeting.

Houston-based Mustang Capital Management LLC and its managing member, John Linnartz, own 4.9 percent of outstanding Furmanite shares, and they are trying to replace four Furmanite board members, including Chairman Sangwoo “Bill” Ahn. Linnartz accuses the Furmanite leadership of poor management and cronyism.
