ID.me wants to make universal Internet identification that works — really, actually works.

I spoke with CEO Blake Hall ahead of the McLean-based company’s connect.gov launch, which aims to provide customers with a one-size-fits-all identification for dealing with government agencies online. The status quo currently requires a different online ID for each agency, a troublesome, piecemeal process that’s also rife with verification difficulties.
