Leaking duct at Bruce Mansfield plant leads to violation notice

A leaking duct has prompted the state Department of Environmental Protection to issue a notice of violation against FirstEnergy Corp.’s Bruce Mansfield power plant in Beaver County.

According to company spokeswoman Stephanie Walton, the leak occurred in a duct carrying exhaust away from its No. 3 unit.

The leak was promptly repaired, Walton said. FirstEnergy (NYSE:FE) is reviewing the notice, which pertains to fugitive emissions, she said.
