Modern H-E-B opens its sliding doors near Galleria

San Antonio-based grocer H-E-B Grocery Co. LP opened its sleek, new store in Tanglewood near the Galleria.

The 90,000-square-foot grocery store off San Felipe and Fountainview features a 250-foot wall of live plants, an architectural metal canopy at the entrance and a casual restaurant called Table 57, which was created with the help of famed Houston chef Randy Evans, according to Culture Map.

Evans was the former Haven chef, and he is acting as a consultant for the menu at H-E-B’s new location…
