Noble Energy trims local workforce

Noble Energy Inc. has cut about 20 positions from its southwestern Pennsylvania operations as part of a larger national realignment.

According to the Houston-based company (NYSE:NBL), it is reducing its workforce by 220 positions, an 8 percent cut, based on the number of employees it reported in its most recent 10-K. The company said it is taking the step as a result of low energy prices.
