Owner of area health care properties will make $1.75B purchase

Ventas Inc., which owns half a dozen health-care properties in the Kansas City area, will buy Ardent Medical Services Inc. in a $1.75 billion deal, the company said Monday.

Chicago-based Ventas plans to purchase Ardent Health Services in a cash deal.
