SunZia spokesperson says permitting delays part of the process

Though the SunZia transmission project is on hold for 60 days, the delay was not unexpected.

The spokesman for the SunZia electric transmission line, Ian Calkins, said Thursday that it has been working on developing the 500 kilowatt, 515-mile-long line for seven years and that “it’s inevitable that over the course of permitting … that there will be changes in leadership.”
