Warehouse vacancy rate increases slightly in Albany area, despite strong demand

The vacancy rate among warehouses in the Albany, New York area increased slightly during the second half of 2014, although demand in the region’s core counties remained strong, according to a report by CBRE-Albany.

The overall vacancy rate was 8.9 percent for 63.2 million square feet of industrial space surveyed in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties and outlying areas.

That compares to 8.8 percent during the second half of 2013.
