Downtown office tower trades hands

A 21-story office building in downtown Houston has traded hands, despite concerns that low oil prices would slow the commercial real estate market.

HFF marketed 801 Travis on behalf of the seller, Atlanta-based Goddard Investment Group, which bought the property in 2007.

LPC Realty Advisors I LP, an affiliate of Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co., bought the building from Goddard on behalf of a pension fund client. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Rosewood Property to start major 156-acre development in Plano

Dallas-based Rosewood Property Co. plans to start a massive 156-acre mixed-use development in Plano near North Central Expressway and the President George Bush Turnpike that is expected to attract a corporate campus.

Construction on the initial phase of the development, called Heritage Creekside, will begin Tuesday morning. The development includes 327 apartments and 100 single-family homes. The phase also includes three restaurant sites on the east side of the property along Alma Road.

Forsyth Tech to open $6M facility in Stokes County

Forsyth Technical Community College plans to open a $6 million, 20,000-square-foot classroom building in Stokes County by 2016.

Blue Ridge Enterprises in Mount Airy is expected to begin construction on the new building within 60 days and complete the project by 2016, said Gary Green, president of Forsyth Tech, which serves residents of both Forsyth and Stokes counties.

Winston-Salem-based Walter Robbs is the architect for the project, which is being entirely funded by Stokes County, Green said.…

AutoZone's taking over the former South Minneapolis Walgreens space

An AutoZone will replace the South Minneapolis Walgreens store that recently moved across Lyndale Avenue at 54th Street.

The Memphis-based auto parts retailer is leasing 8,580 square feet and plans to open in mid-July, spokesman Ray Pohlman said.
