Wrecking ball cometh for Columbia Road storefronts, mixed-use development beckons

Change is coming to Columbia Road Northwest, via the wrecking ball.

Farmington Hills, Michigan-based Beztak Properties, having last year acquired the six storefronts at 1767-1777 Columbia Road in Adams Morgan (more specifically, Lanier Heights), in multiple transactions totaling $20.2 million, has now applied to raze the buildings. Beztak is partnering with D.C.’s Foxhall Partners on a mixed-use redevelopment of the site, which is located across the street from the future Line DC hotel.

Aurora to spend $38 million on Germantown outpatient center, medical offices

Aurora Health Care said it will spend $38 million to open a medical office building and outpatient surgery center in Germantown.

Milwaukee-based Aurora said Monday the new facility will be in a converted Aurora administrative office building on River Lane Road. Construction is expected to begin in August and be complete within about one year, Aurora said.

VA says it has money for Denver hospital

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs says that it has the funds to complete the Denver VA Medical Center, U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet’s office said Monday.
