Garces Group to open another restaurant in D.C.

The Garces Group, led by Chef Jose Garces, said a second Village Whiskey restaurant will be opening in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

The 4,459-square-foot Village Whiskey will open at 920 N St. NW in Washington, D.C., next year. There will be 1,720 square feet of outdoor space.

The Garces Group is working with Douglas Development on the project.

Beaver Valley Power Station shut for refueling

One unit of the Beaver Valley Power Station shut down over the weekend for refueling and maintenance.

FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE), the Shippingport facility’s owner, said 61 of its 157 fuel assemblies will be replaced, and other work, including safety checks, will be made. There was no timeline on when the plant would be back in operation.

The Beaver Valley Power Station puts out 939 megawatts and has been operating since its last refueling in November 2013.
