CSC stock jumps 7 percent on new buyout speculation

Here we go again: Rumors about a Computer Sciences Corp. buyout have resurfaced, spurring a nearly 7 percent jump in share price.

Multiple sources in the analyst community confirmed that the jump in share price — from $66.93 at close Friday to $71.50 when the market opened Monday — is due to talks of a buyout of the Falls Church company that were reported by Dealreporter Feb. 20, post market close.

Houston has more than 17 million square feet of new office space currently under construction, but the joyride is about to end.

HFF secures $680M in financing for Four Seasons tower

HFF has secured $680 million in construction financing and joint venture equity for the 61-story Four Seasons hotel and private residences planned in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, the firm announced.

HFF (NYSE: HF) worked with developer Carpenter & Co. to secure a $500 million construction loan through The Children’s Investment Fund Management LLP, a London-based hedge fund management firm. Citi Private Bank raised $180 million in joint venture equity, HFF said.

Alabama 4Q residential sales climb

Alabama’s residential sales continue to gain strength.

During 2014’s final quarter, the state saw 10,351 single-family homes sold. That is a 7.5 percent increase over 4Q 2013, according to new data released by the Alabama Center for Real Estate.

That also represents an 18 percent increase over the five-year average between 2009-2013.

As reported by the BBJ in January, Alabama’s December residential sales represented a 14 percent increase over November, with 3,494 units closed during the month.
