Hawaii lawmakers urge regulators to take time to review NextEra-HECO deal

Hawaii lawmakers are urging state regulators to go along with the Hawaii Consumer Advocate’s request to establish a schedule that would complete the regulatory review process of NextEra Energy Inc.’s $4.3 billion acquisition of Hawaiian Electric Co. by June 2016.

The Hawaii House of Representatives adopted House Resolution 158, urging the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission to protect the public interest in reviewing the proposed acquisition, among other requests.

Panera will build on former Bennigan's site in Arlington

Panera Bread Bakery & Cafe will build a new restaurant in Arlington on the site of a former Bennigan’s that has been shuttered since 2008.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that the former Bennigan’s building at 4000 S. Cooper St. will be demolished.

The newspaper said that Panera has leased the site from its Dallas-based owner, 157/Melear Joint Venture.
