The St. Petersburg City Council on Thursday approved a deal with Pinellas County to raise $70 million for a new police headquarters. Money would be shifted from projects the city has completed with other funds that were part of the 2008 Penny for Pinellas funds, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Projects that would be affected are $5 million in infrastructure improvements at city intersections. A new station means some steady work for the construction industry in St. Petersburg for a while.

After two years of planning, Brown & Kelly’s office move became a reality Thursday as filing cabinets and furniture were being wheeled away while managing partner Kenneth Krajewski spoke on the phone.

The Golden Leaf Foundation has reserved $50 million to help entice an automaker to North Carolina.

The Rocky Mount-based organization did not name any specific locations, but it’s making the announcement as efforts intensify to attract an auto manufacturer to Randolph County.
