GenCorp Inc. has made another move to focus on its core business. The Rancho Cordova rocket maker quietly has sold off another line of business.

In its financial report for its first quarter, the parent company of Aerojet Rocketdyne this week said it reached a deal in March to sell an energy-related business it inherited after buying Rocketdyne. The June 2013 acquisition made GenCorp (NYSE: GY) the largest publicly traded company in the Sacramento region.

Gasoline ingredient now flowing in NuStar's cross-border pipeline

A key component of gasoline is now flowing in a cross-border pipeline built by San Antonio-based NuStar Energy linking a production facility in Mexico with the Port of Brownsville.

Mexico’s national oil company Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) reported on Friday that naphthalene started flowing on April 1 from their production facility in Reynosa to a terminal in the Port of Brownsville.

PEMEX subsidiary PMI and NuStar signed a 10-year joint venture deal last year to build the cross-border pipeline.

Health issue pushes theatreWashington CEO to retire

TheatreWashington said its president and CEO, Linda Levy, will retire to focus on health issues.

Levy has led the D.C. organization, which changed its name from the Helen Hayes Awards in 2011, since 2008. Eagle Ford, Permian Basin both see double digit declines in rig count

After two weeks of stabilizing, drilling activity took a dramatic double-digit decline in both the Eagle Ford Shale and the Permian Basin, according to the Baker Hughes Rig Count.

The number of active drilling rigs in the Eagle Ford had fallen from 137 active rigs to 125 this week.

Drilling had stabilized and remained steady in the Eagle Ford in the two previous weeks making this week’s drop a dramatic decline.
