City of Boston names 'startup czar'

The city of Boston announced Monday that it named a City Hall staffer as its first “startup czar,” focused on helping nurture Boston’s young tech companies.

Rory Cuddyer, a member of Mayor Marty Walsh’s administration, who previously served as advisor to Walsh chief of staff Dan Koh, will lead the effort, reporting to Chief of Economic Development John Barros and the Boston Redevelopment Authority.

Hawaii community Development Authority moving closer to Downtown Honolulu March 16

The Hawaii Community Development Authority will officially begin operating out of the historic American Brewery Building on Queen Street near Downtown Honolulu on March 16, the state agency overseeing the redevelopment of Kakaako said Monday.

Alexander & Baldwin Inc.’s The Collection residential project in Kakaako, which started construction in October, has pre-sold 93 percent of its 450 units, the vast majority of which are being purchased by local buyers, the company said Monday.

Honolulu-based Alexander & Baldwin (NYSE: ALEX) said 88 percent of the units pre-sold at The Collection were under binding contracts.
