Bank scores strike with sale of repossessed bowling alley

Palm Beach Community Bank scored a strike with the sale of a repossessed bowling alley for a profit, but the facility near Lake Worth may have seen its final frame.

The West Palm Beach-based bank seized the 59,777-square-foot property at 6591 S. Military Trail in July 2014 after foreclosing on Palm Beach Strike Zone’s $3 million mortgage. What Florida businesswomen expect from the companies they lead in 2015

Four companies in the Tampa Bay area are among the top 50 women-led for-profit organizations in Florida.

The companies were identified as part of a survey by The Commonwealth Institute of South Florida and Kaufman Rossin, a South Florida-based accounting firm.

Renters rejoice: 2 Ohio counties among most affordable in U.S.

The market for renters is booming in the U.S., and Ohio is a viable option for renters as two of the top 10 most affordable markets for home rentals are in the Buckeye Stare, according to a report from RealtyTrac.

In fact, the most affordable area in the nation for renting a three-bedroom home is Delaware County around Columbus, where rents average just 14 percent of the median income.

In addition, Warren County also sits in the top 10, where home rentals account for 17 percent of median income.
