Sen. Fitzgerald sets meeting for Wednesday on arena funding

Less than one week after a Marquette University Law School poll showed public opposition to the state providing $150 million in financing for a new arena in downtown Milwaukee, state Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald will convene a meeting in Madison with key players in the discussion.

Excelsior Group has deal to buy West End site for office towers

Fresh off its purchase of the Parkdales office complex in St. Louis Park, The Excelsior Group has reached a deal to buy a seven-acre office development in the West End mixed-use district to develop up to 700,000 square feet in two 11-story office towers.

The agreement, but not the price, was disclosed on the agenda for Monday’s St. Louis Park City Council meeting.

Bethesda Magazine acquires Bethesda Now

Bethesda Magazine has acquired local news site Bethesda Now for an undisclosed sum, and says it will merge its resources into its own online operation, Bethesda Beat.

Bethesda Magazine publisher Steve Hull says Bethesda Now will stop publishing as a separate site.

“By combining the resources of Bethesda Now and Bethesda Beat, we will be able to substantially increase the breadth and depth of our coverage, and the size of our readership,” Bethesda Beat quotes Hill as saying.

Houston mall under contract to be sold

Northwest Mall may have a new owner soon.

The 51.75-acre property — where U.S. Highway 290 meets the 610 Loop — is listed as under contract on HFF’s website. The real estate firm began marketing the property for Houston-based Levcor Inc. in September.

No additional details about the potential deal were available, and HFF was not immediately available to comment.

A Scottsdale Road Starbucks building has sold for 538,000 skinny vanilla lattes – or $2.42 million to Silicon Valley buyers

The building is located at the Scottsdale and McKellips roads in Tempe. It houses a Starbucks, where you can get the aforementioned skinny vanilla lattes for around $4.50 per drink.

TEMK Investments Fremont LLC bought the Scottsdale Road building from SWC Scottsdale & McKellips LLC.

TEMK is based in San Jose. SWC is based in Scottsdale.
