Developers vying for big Charlotte Avenue property

Nashville business owner Tamay Ozari says a California developer has offered him $10 million to buy the nearly 7 acres he owns on Charlotte Avenue.

Ozari isn’t biting. He’s persisting with his own plans to redevelop his land with 280 apartments with offices, restaurants and a small grocery. He is fully aware that its value is rising as Charlotte Avenue’s budding revitalization appears to be taking hold — in a hurry.

Waffle House buys Third Avenue North site

Waffle House has closed on the site that will bring the popular 24/7 chain to downtown Birmingham.

Evan Dujanovic, a broker with Commercial Property Services Inc., said this week the property at 1104 Third Ave. N. was sold to Waffle House for $435,000.

Waffle House first announced plans to come downtown at a January Design Review Committee hearing.

The former Krystal building has been vacant for many years, Dujanovic said, but Waffle House will start work in about six months to redevelop the property…

Fort Worth's apartment rent growth breaks record at 6.8% annual gain

Fort Worth’s annual effective rents grew 6.8 percent year-over-year in March, which is the city’s highest rent gain in the current real estate cycle, according to research from Addison-based Axiometrics.
