Developers cancel North Loop Minneapolis condo project

A Minneapolis development partnership decided to scrub the 602 Residences condo project in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood.

Curt Gunsbury and Robb Miller got approvals for the eight-story condo project in January from the city of Minneapolis and had been floating plans for the condo since last summer, but they weren’t able to pre-sell enough units to move forward, according to the Downtown Journal.

A proposed loan for Pewaukee manufacturer Hilmot LLC to move 128 jobs to Milwaukee is among three the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp. will consider this month.

An affiliate of the conveyor system manufacturer is seeking a $1.2 million loan to buy an almost 100,000-square-foot building at 11925 W. Contracting firms allege non-payment from Austin developer

At least nine companies have filed affidavits alleging they have not been paid for work completed on a new restaurant and entertainment venue near Bee Cave south of Austin.

In documents filed at the Travis County Clerk’s office, general contractor Balfour Beatty Construction reports it has not been paid $715,448.17 by Texas Wildflower Properties LLC and affiliated company Lake Travis Entertainment LLC.

Opening date set for huge FedEx Ground distribution center

If all goes as planned, FedEx Corp. will be ready to open its new distribution center in Louisville this time next year for its FedEx Ground operations.

David Westrick, a communications specialist for FedEx (NYSE: FDX), told Business First by e-mail this week that the distribution center will exceed 300,000 square feet and should open by May 2016. He did not disclose construction costs.
