In case you don’t have time to stop by the new Mellow Mushroom anytime soon, Business First photographer Tim Harris popped in to snap some photos of the unique-looking space.

The Mellow Mushroom opened today at 1023 Bardstown Road, just a couple doors down from Jack Fry’s and locally owned Wick’s Pizza. The two-story, 5098-square-foot building has been about a year in the making, and it stands out among its neighbors. It can seat around 260 people and has 14 parking spaces around the back.

Expansion: HQ Raleigh to take over furniture production facility in downtown Raleigh

HQ Raleigh is growing, its co-founders having just purchased what used to be the William-Cozart furniture production facility on West Street in downtown Raleigh.

The building, comprising 10,000 square feet behind HQ’s existing headquarters on Harrington Street, will be redeveloped into 30,000 to 50,000 square feet of space that will include offices for larger startup teams as well as meeting space. Milwaukee-based Phoenix Investors sold a large Nebraska shopping center for $16.78 million and will use the proceeds to buy industrial buildings in Wisconsin and the Midwest.
