Developer says $26M project will help transform Gladstone

Developers will unveil a new mixed-use project later this month that they say will transform Gladstone.

Indianapolis-based Flaherty & Collins Properties will host grand opening ceremonies for The Heights Linden Square on April 16. The $26 million project, at 601 N.E. 70th St., promises to bring residents and retail to Gladstone. It includes 222 luxury apartments and 10,000 square feet of street-level retail space.

Owner of area health care properties will make $1.75B purchase

Ventas Inc., which owns half a dozen health-care properties in the Kansas City area, will buy Ardent Medical Services Inc. in a $1.75 billion deal, the company said Monday.

Chicago-based Ventas plans to purchase Ardent Health Services in a cash deal. City View Village sold to Houston real estate investor

Whitestone REIT bought City View Village in San Antonio for $6.3 million, marking the Houston-based real estate investment trust’s third property in the San Antonio area.

City View Village is located across the street from another Whitestone property, The Strand at Huebner Oaks. Whitestone bought The Strand from the previous owners last year for $18 million.

Westar Energy: 2,260 customers remain without power

Three days after high winds knocked down power lines across many areas of south-central Kansas, about 2,260 Westar Energy customers remain without power.

The company said at about 6 a.m. Monday that most of the outages are in Reno County, where 1,856 customers are being affected. Power is out for almost 300 Sedgwick County customers and about 100 Harvey County customers.
