Martignetti Cos., the wine and liquor distributor that received the first retail license for beverage alcohol in the Bay State after the repeal of Prohibition, is planning to invest $100 million to build a new regional headquarters.

A long vacant office building in the central business district has an interested potential buyer.

The Centre City building, a 21-story historic office building at 40 S. Main St. in Dayton, is for sale. Bart Weprin, a managing director with Sperry Van Ness in Cincinnati, is marketing the 100-year-old, 244,000-square-foot building, and said there is a serious buyer in the picture. Amid concerns, Portland pledges to help building owners meet energy reporting standards

Susan Steward doesn’t mince words when it comes to the city of Portland’s recently passed policy that will require commercial building owners to track and report their energy usage.

“We are not thrilled this is happening,” she said.

Outlook Development Group on Thursday will hold a getting-to-know-you meeting with Hales Corners officials to discuss interest in redeveloping a vacant Kmart property.

Olivette design company lands $20 million federal contract

Olivette-based engineering and design company Etegra Inc. has won a contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers valued at $20 million, the company announced Monday.

Under the contract, Etegra will provide architectural engineering services to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through the Army Corps’ Engineering and Construction Support Office. The contract will have a one-year base period with four one-year option periods, according to a release.
