Howard University Hospital posted $58 million loss last year

Howard University Hospital reported a $58 million loss in fiscal year 2014, dragging Howard University into the red for the year, a university treasurer’s report shows.

Without the hospital, the university alone had generated a profit of $13 million for the fiscal year. With the hospital’s $58 million loss, Howard University then reported a $44 million loss for the year.

A local franchisee is ready for a second cup of Zoup.

Treva Weaver and husband Jim Weaver on Thursday are opening their second Zoup Fresh Soup Co. at 1543 Lennox Town Lane, two years after opening their first fast-casual soup-and-sandwich spot on Polaris Parkway near Westerville.

PRG, which announced it has acquired the project, is committing to a $5.8 million capital improvement plan to transform both…

“I’m excited to join an already talented team of staff and board at the Denver/Boulder BBB,” States said. “The opportunity to make a tremendous impact in the communities we serve is very exciting.”

States will replace former president and CEO Su Hawk, who stepped down in November following nearly two years with the BBB to “pursue new…
