A major retailer has apparently closed in Country Club Plaza, the struggling Arden-Arcade shopping mall that seemed to be on the verge of new life last summer.

Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse was closed during normal business hours on Sunday. A sign outside the store said, “This Off Broadway location is now closed. Please shop at our other 2 locations.” Some shoes were visible inside the store, but it looked as if much of the inventory was removed.

Higher-ed tech company, led by Blackboard alum, raises $5.5M

Full Measure Education, Inc., a District-based higher-ed technology company, has closed a $5.5 million Series B funding round led by Pennsylvania-based Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. North Carolina-based Bull City Venture Partners also participated in the round.

The company is the second startup by Blackboard alumnus Greg Davies, who was one of the company’s first five hires back in 1997. It aims to address the college dropout rate at colleges and universities through advanced communication strategies.

Canadian firm scoops up Superior office building for $25.8 million

A Canadian real-estate investment trust has acquired Superior Pointe, an office building in Superior, for $25.8 million.

City Office REIT (NYSE: CIO) acquired the 149,006-square-foot, Class A office property, which is located at 1000 S. McCaslin Blvd.

The property is 90 percent occupied and was built in 2000.

Developers of the massive Delta Shores project in south Sacramento are moving into the design and permit phase for the retail portion following an approval last week by the city’s planning commission.
