NYSE warns coal company that its stock price is too low

Alpha Natural Resources Inc.’s stock price has dipped below the threshold needed to maintain its listing on the New York Stock Exchange.

The Virginia-based company (NYSE:ANR), which operates the Emerald and Cumberland mines in Greene County, said Friday it has been notified by the exchange that as of April 13, the 30-day average for its stock was 99 cents. To maintain a listing, the stock needs to trade for at least $1.

Raleigh firm teams with German company on 28MW solar portfolio in N.C.

Holocene Clean Energy of Raleigh and Conergy, a global solar company based in Hamburg, Germany, closed financing this week on the purchase of five N.C. solar projects that, when built, will total 28 megawatts.

The value of the projects was placed at close to $60 million.

Holocene CFO Stan Allison says the first of the five projects is likely to come on line in June. More will be finished the summer, and all the projects will be completed in this year.

During her first State of the State address Friday, Gov. Kate Brown announced that five small Oregon companies would receive a combined $300,000 to fund innovation.

House Bill 40 advanced unchanged through the Texas House of Representatives with a vote of 122-18 Friday afternoon.
