JBG makes short list for GSA building swap in exchange for services

The JBG Cos. is in the running for a building swap with the General Services Administration for part of the site known as Federal Triangle South, not far from the Chevy Chase-based developer’s L’Enfant Plaza.

The GSA named JBG affiliate JBG Development Group Inc., Hunt Companies Inc. and Republic Properties Corp. to a short list for the swap, nearly a year after issuing a request for qualifications from firms willing to offer their construction services in exchange for the two federally owned buildings…

TIAA-CREF, Norges team up to tackle another multimillion-dollar acquisition in D.C.

TIAA-CREF and Norges Bank Investment Management have inked another multimillion-dollar real estate deal in D.C. with their combined acquisition of Republic Square I for $307 million, adding to an already impressive portfolio that includes PNC Place and the Hall of the States.

TIAA-CREF acquired a 50.1 percent interest in 25 Massachusetts Ave. NW — which is leased by tenants including Google Inc., the American Medical Association and General Motors Co. — while Norges acquired a 49.9 percent stake.…

Pentagon’s recommitment leads to nearly $97 million sale in Falls Church

One of the largest owners of government-leased real estate has added another address to its portfolio in Falls Church after the Department of Defense agreed last year to remain in the Suffolk Building for another decade.

NGP, formerly National Government Properties, acquired the building at 5611 Columbia Pike March 10 for about $374 per square foot from investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management, according to Fairfax County land records. The deal was brokered by JLL’s Capital Markets Government…
