Plano, Texas-based The American Bottling Co. Inc. signed a lease for a 60,000-square-foot industrial space at 1181 Tradeport Dr. west of Orlando International Airport in Orlando. Ohio-based Emerson Network Power is doubling its space and moving to northwestern Houston along the Sam Houston Parkway.

FPL looks to acquire coal-fired power plant in Jacksonville — and then shut it down

Juno Beach-based Florida Power & Light Co. on Monday filed a petition with the Florida Public Service Commission, asking it to approve its acquisition of a coal-fired power plant in Jacksonville.

The Cedar Bay Generating Plant, which had been under a long-term contract to supply power to FPL since 1998, is a 250-megawatt coal-fired facility on the city’s Northside.
