Utility says latest delays to Georgia nuclear plant to cost additional $1B

After rocky week of strikes, steelworkers, Shell to return to negotiating table

It’s been over a month of on-again, off-again contract negotiations between the United Steelworkers union and Houston-based Shell Oil Co.

After a week-long standstill between the two, negotiations are expected to resume March 4, according to Fuel Fix. No other details have been released.

Shell is the industry representative during the negotiations with the steelworkers union.

The union has stated it is on strike because of safety concerns for its members and the community, but Shell has said otherwise.…

Nearly 4,000 gallons recovered from Houston energy co.'s pipeline spill

A Hilcorp Alaska LLC pipeline leaked an unknown amount of crude oil, water and other fluids over the weekend, according to reports.

Hilcorp Alaska is a unit of Houston-based Hilcorp Energy Co.

The spill occurred around 7:50 a.m. on Feb. 28, and an estimated 3,906 gallons of liquids were recovered by midday March 1, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation reported.

Richard Kinder is still the richest person in Houston, and he’s now among the 100 richest people worldwide, according to Forbes’ “The World’s Billionaires” list for 2015.
