Plano to vote on $5.2M cash incentive, tax breaks for Liberty Mutual

Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. will receive up to $5.2 million in cash grants and get a 10-year, 50 percent tax abatement if the Plano City Council approves an incentive package it’s scheduled to vote on Monday.

In exchange for the cash and tax breaks, the Boston-based insurer will create or transfer up to 4,000 jobs to Plano by the end of 2020 and build an office campus in the Legacy West area totaling a minimum of 900,000 square feet, according to city documents.
